Welcome to my website!

Acupuncture treatment can be sought for help with a wide range of physical ailments and conditions, emotional stresses, and mental health concerns.
It can also be used to maintain physical and mental health once this has been restored.
In order to give you a better understanding of what you can expect from it, here is a list of some of the conditions that in my experience, I found acupunture to be instrumental in treating or in other cases where the severity of the symptoms were improved. Please remember the list is not exhaustive and also that each person responds in an individual way and at a different pace to treatment. Do get in touch if you have a query.

What happens when you come for treatment ?
Consultation,
You will have the opportunity to discuss your current health issues, emotional well-being, medical history, past and current medication and other relevant matters.
It is important for me to gather and build up through our conversation, a holistic picture of yourself. This will allow me to determine the most appropriate treatment for you.
This initial consultation also includes a short Physical traditional assessment consisting of taking your pulse on both wrists, checking for any abdominal tenderness, measurement of the energetic balance between the right and left side of the body.
I check too your blood pressure as this will determine if I should use moxibustion with the treatment. (I should perhaps explain here briefly that moxibustion is the burning of a chinese herb just above the surface of the skin. It can help to warm up the acupuncture points and encourage the body`s energy - Qi - to flow smootly.)
1st Treatment:
Very often this consists of a very superficial needling on different acupuncture points on your back. This is a test as well as a treatment and will disclose if there is any energy that has become polluted and needs to be removed. This needling treatment will facilitate this clearing. As the polluted energy clears, the redness around the needles disappears.
I then start working on a specific treatment in relation with the element in you that needs support. (The 5 elements in the form of Chinese acupuncture I practise are described here later.)
Follow up sessions:
Although there may be instant relief with a first treatment, acupuncture treats the underlying cause of a condition, disease or dysfunction, and it may take a few sessions before you can appreciate the progress taking place. It usually takes a few treatments to "anchor" the positive changes within your body.
As every person is unique and responds differently to treatment, there is no specific rules to how many treatments are required. Sometimes the effects are quite dramatic and only 2 or 3 treatments are needed, while some people may need treatment over several months. It is also usually a good idea once the symptoms are gone to come for a visit once every few months in order to maintain an optimum level of health.
The first session takes 2 hours, follow up sessions usually take 1hour 15 minutes.
.
If you wish to see me before committing to a course of treatment, you are very welcome to book a free 15 to 30 minutes informal visit, where you can see the clinic and ask me any questions regarding treatment that you may have.
