Frequently Asked Questions
Is Acupuncture the right treatment for me ?
The aim of Treatment is to restore health and balance, and in a greater sense give you back power over your destiny.
As well as treatment, it may well be necessary for you to make some changes to your life style, in order to recover your health. This may be to do with your diet, the amount of water you drink, the amount of alcohol etc.
There may also be times when western medicine may be necessary for you; acupuncture can then be used as a complementary medicine.
Can there be a risk of infection with Acupuncture?
All needles used are new and sterile and for single use only.
The practitioner observes a strict code of practice when needling.
Does Acupuncture hurt ?
The needles used are very fine, therefore the needling experience is nothing like that of hypodermic needles. People`s experiences of acupuncture needling can be described as a sharp or dull pinch or sometimes as a tingling sensation.
How many times will I need to come for treatment ?
The practitioner treats the underlying cause of symptoms to bring you back to health. Although there may be instant relief it is important to understand that in some cases it may take a few sessions before you can appreciate the progress taking place.
Many people continue to visit their practitioner on a regular but less frequent basis in order to maintain an optimum level of health.
I am taking medication, can I still come for treatment ?
Yes, acupuncture is a complementary therapy and won`t interfere with the effect of medication.
